The BH-BL Education Foundation is saddened by the death of one of our founding members, Dr. Richard H. O’Rourke, at age 90 in March 2020. Dr. O’Rourke was the Superintendent of the BH-BL Central School District for an amazing 25 years from 1969 to 1994. “Dick” was a caring and collaborative leader who was dedicated to the education of all children in the district. A sign of how deeply he was respected by our community is the fact that the Board of Education renamed the Middle School in his honor when he retired in 1994.
The Foundation is also proud to have been selected by Dr. O’Rourke and his family as a suggested recipient of memorial gifts in his name.
