Maureen Bitley and Marge Rizzo, O’Rourke Middle School

The  funds were used to purchase books in Playaway format. The entire book is loaded on an MP3 device. The speed of the narrator’s voice can be adjusted.

Grant: $500

 

John Capano, Marge Rizzo, and Susan Schultz, O’Rourke Middle School and BH-BL High School

Grant funds were used to purchase two Nook eBook readers.  The Nooks can store many eBooks and its portability makes it easy to loan to students and staff.

Grant: $600

 

Chris Gangemi, BH-BL High School English Department

The funds were used to purchase an Elmo for the English Department. The Elmo allows for showing pictures etc. to provide background for literature and student presentations.

Grant: $845

 

Kris Gregory, Stevens Elementary Kindergarten Teachers

The grant funds went towards the “Book Kid” program established at Stevens Elementary.

Grant: $1,001

 

Michael Martino, BH-BL High School Technology Department

The funds were used to purchase a Saw Stop Table Saw. The saw will enable students with disabilities to participate in wood working projects.

Grant: $2,250

 

Raelene Noll, BH-BL High School Foreign Language Department

The funds were used for a SXGA Document Camera and supporting equipment.

Grant: $845

to the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Education Foundation website! The Foundation is run by a volunteer board and was begun in 1998 to create new opportunities for education in our community.

The Foundation supports the youth of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school community by generating and disbursing funds for services, equipment, enrichment programs, and other projects designed to enhance education.
