Maryanne Doyle, BH-BL High School Math Department

A wireless computer projector monitor adapter for the math department. The department has a computer projector but it is stationary and can’t be used easily. The adapter would help to make the projector useful.

Grant: $400

 

Christine Gangemi, BH-BL High School English Department

A series of videoconferences with the Globe Theater in London. Five conferences would reach 150 students studying Shakespeare’s plays.

Grant: $1,220.41

 

Corey Hanson

Support for the Eagle Project to update the trails behind Steven’s school. This enhances the environmental studies aspect of the school’s science program.

Grant: $545

 

Beth Larson, BH-BL High School Social Studies Department

A digital projector to improve delivery of curriculum in her classes.

Grant: $1,700

 

Christine Layden and Mike Danis

Equipment for the Arts Dept. Graphic Lab – for new courses in animation and cinemation. There would be many uses for both art and music.

Grant: $1,933

 

Richard Reynolds

Publishing a book “From Wilderness to Community: The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District”. This is a history of the BH-BL schools. The 7th grade social studies class would use this text. The district would purchase some of the texts for the course. It is believed that community members would also purchase this book.

Grant: $3,996.58

 

George Seymour, BH-BL High School Science Department

Two telescopes, two tripods and two accessory kits to be used by Earth Science students, 6th grade students and 3rd grade students. There would be an optional activity for these students and their parents. This process would connect with the community and other groups interested in astronomy.

Grant: $2,000

The Foundation supports the youth of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school community by generating and disbursing funds for services, equipment, enrichment programs, and other projects designed to enhance education.
