Taste of Burnt Hills Goes International – Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021

Christy Multer, September 17, 2021September 17, 2021

Join us for Drive-By Dinners plus 2 Raffles

The BH-BL Education Foundation has “reimagined” its one big fundraiser in cooperation with Spartan Catering

The Education Foundation and the school district’s Spartan Catering are again joining forces to offer a take-out only, socially distanced, international dinner to raise money for grants to teachers that will enhance learning in the BH-BL Schools.

Four different dinners (plus a gluten-free option) will be available for pick up from 4:30 – 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 20, by driving through the back parking lot of the BH-BL High School. No one should need to leave their cars for pick-ups.

Drive-By Dinners –  to pre-order for $15 each

  • American:  Traditional Turkey Dinner including gravy, stuffing, mashed red bliss potatoes, glazed carrots, cranberry sauce, roll & butter. (A gluten-free version of this dinner is also available.)
  • Asian:  Chicken Teriyaki Dinner – Chicken and vegetables sautéed in a teriyaki sauce served with noodles, a side of egg fried rice.
  • German:  Sauerbraten Dinner – Beef pot roast served with a rich tangy gravy, mashed red bliss potatoes, braised red cabbage and apples, roll & butter.
  • Italian:  Stuffed Eggplant Parmesan (vegetarian) – Spartan Catering’s signature ricotta & spinach stuffed eggplant parm, served with penne, roll & butter.

Also available:  2 Appetizers, 2 Desserts & 2 Raffles

New this year:  You can also order a bowl of Italian Wedding Soup, some Cinnamon Roasted Apple Salad, a Cream Puff, or a slice of Dutch Apple Pie by themselves or to accompany your dinner.

In addition to another giant Gift Card Raffle like last year, we are offering a separate Quilt Raffle, where you can win a queen-size quilt in beautiful batik fabrics, designed and sewn by Burnt Hills quilt artist Peg Allocco.

October 20 will be the final day to enter the raffles. The winning raffle entries will be drawn shortly thereafter. Winners will be notified by phone or email, and Gift Cards sent to them via the US mail.

Click here: Givebutter.com/Taste2021  to order food items or raffle tickets or to make a donation to the Foundation.

The last day to place an order will be Sunday, Oct. 17. However, if you forget to order in time, a limited number of “extra” dinners will be prepared and sold in-person (for cash or checks only) first come, first served on Oct. 20.

On Oct. 20, pre-ordered dinners will be ready for pick-up under the name on your order form from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Please enter the High School back parking lot, follow the traffic cones, and stay in your car.
