Thanks to support from so many, the Foundation raises $7,940!
The weather was perfect and the food was yummy on October 21, 2020, as nearly 200 local families participated in a new “drive-by,” socially distanced version of the Taste of Burnt Hills annual fundraiser put on by the BH-BL Education Foundation and Spartan Catering.
Customers entered the High School parking lot and drove up to the courtyard by the school cafeteria where Foundation volunteers were bagging and handing out Spartan Catering dinners.
A total of 544 dinners were sold along with 1,045 entries in a huge Gift Card Raffle.
The event had an international theme this year and featured dinners from four traditions. The most popular option proved to be the American traditional turkey dinner, followed by German beef sauerbraten, Asian chicken teriyaki, and Italian stuffed eggplant parmesan.
The following day, Taste volunteers pulled the winning raffle tickets, which are listed below.
THANK YOU! to everyone who purchased dinners or raffle tickets, who volunteered in this event, or who helped spread the word. Special thanks go to chef Nicky Boehm, the head of Spartan Catering and her food service staff who created all the dinners. Also to high school principal Tim Brunson and the custodial staff.
The Foundation is also particularly grateful to the following 37 local restaurants and businesses who donated one or more Gift Cards or Gift Certificates with values ranging from $10 to $100 for our raffle.
This was a very popular raffle with some individuals buying as many as $200 worth of tickets.
The following winners will be notified by phone or email, and gift cards delivered to them or sent to them via the US mail. (Note: multiple names listed below means the business donated multiple gift certificates.)
