Opening doorways of opportunity

Celebrating the Return of the Taste of Burnt Hills – Oct. 17 2022

Christy Multer, August 30, 2022August 30, 2022

Yay!!   After 3 years, our traditional, in-person event is back!

Join us at the Taste of Burnt Hills from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, October 17, 2022, in the O’Rourke Middle School cafeteria at 173 Lakehill Road, Burnt Hills.

The event will feature signature dishes from at least 11 local eating establishments. All proceeds go to provide more grants for innovative projects in BH-BL classrooms.

As of Aug. 30, food providers this year will be:  Augie’s Restaurant, Burnt Hills Cafe, the Glenville Queen, Henry’s Tavern, Marcella’s Restaurant, More Perreca’s, Mr. Wok Chinese, Pizza Works, Pomme de Terre Catering, Spartan Catering, and the Turf Tavern.

Attendees can stroll past tables of food and select from a variety of yummy entrees, salads, side dishes and desserts.

The event will also feature a Silent Auction of gift cards and themed baskets of items donated by local businesses. The 2022 recipient of the Jennie Pennington Education Innovator Award will be announced, as well as the winning raffle ticket for another wonderful quilt by local quilt artist Peg Allocco.

The Taste of Burnt Hills is the Foundation’s longest running and largest source of money for the grants it awards twice a year for special projects and equipment requested by BH-BL staff members. In 2020 and 2021, covid precautions forced this annual fund-raiser to be held as a drive-thru, Spartan Catering event only. So returning to an in-person event this fall with many restaurants is an exciting treat.

Individual tickets to the event are $30 per person. Additionally, anyone can be a Friend of the Foundation and contribute even if they can’t attend on October 17.

Tickets are available at the door or online at www.givebutter.com/BHBLTaste2022

Individuals and businesses can also show their support of enrichment in the BH-BL schools by becoming a Patron or Sponsor, as follows:

  • Be a Patron for $100 and receive admission for 2 attendees plus your name listed in the printed event program.
  • Be a Junior Sponsor for $250 and receive admission for 2 attendees plus a quarter-page ad in the event program.
  • Be a Senior Sponsor for $500 and receive admission for 2 attendees plus a half-page ad in the event program.
  • Be a Principal Sponsor for $1,000 and receive admission for 2 attendees plus a full page ad in the event program.

Sponsors should contact Christy Multer at cmulter12 at gmail.com for details and deadlines for their ads.
